Poem: Passing Ghosts

Within the days of dreams gone past,

Lie shuttered hopes not meant to last.

The currents flow as time does too,

If what we are compelled to do,

Frittering days to fight the tides,

From wax to wane, from ide to ide.

To live this way our souls are worn,

From true purpose a life is torn.

For if we waste our precious time,

On looking back instead of prime,

Squandered a life what mattered most,

Life is blessing on this great host.

The planet Earth what matters most,

We’re not much else but passing ghosts.
